Happiness is a Choice!

Happiness is a choice, and it’s up to us to intentionally choose it every day.

How can we do this?

Focus on and recognize all of the positive aspects happening in your life.

Smile. Seriously, just do it. Besides, haven’t you heard that a smile is the prettiest accessory you can wear?

Humbly keep complaints or negativity to yourself. Simply choose joy and peace rather than dwelling on an already difficult situation.

Practice self-improvement. Write down a few things that you would like to work on in your personal life for growth whether it be hitting the weights more at the gym, reducing the amount of Doritos snacked on during Monday night football, or learning to better budget your finances.

Get out of bed. This may sound obvious. We all eventually get out of bed at some point or another (hopefully), but there is something about getting up with the sun, enjoying a hot cup of joe, and not being rushed in the morning that just feels so damn good.

Compliment others. Treating others with kindness and seeing them smile is one of the most rewarding feelings a human can experience.

Meditate. Take a few moments for yourself out of each day. Find a quiet room, light some candles, or better yet, go outside in the fresh air and just breathe. Focus on your breaths, and on nothing but good energy. Inhale all the positive and happy things in your life, and exhale everything that make you feel anything other than pure bliss.
